This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a public school located in a high poverty district. Students at my school are creative, hard-working, and caring. They are empathetic towards others, even though many face their own obstacles. Whenever our school has fundraisers to help others (Raising money for St. Jude, UNICEF, etc.), students do their very best to contribute what they can. They show compassion towards others and are extremely grateful when others are generous to them. Although many of the students in my school face poverty, they have positive attitudes and do their very best each and every day.

My Project

My second graders meet with me to listen to stories and engage in discussions. Due to COVID, the carpets were removed from our classrooms. The students have to sit on the cold, hard floor.

Square floor mats will provide my students with a bright, cheery and comfortable place to sit.

The floor mats I am requesting can be easily sanitized to ensure the students will be able to use them in good health. They would be really excited to receive the floor mats and would use them several times a day.
