I am fortunate to be teaching a group of wonderful third-grade students at our school. This group of students truly care so much about each other and LOVE learning, especially when the activities are hands-on.
Since I am new to the profession, it is sometimes challenging to find specific resources that could help make activities more hands-on and engaging for my students.
I especially find this challenging for math. I have been implementing math stations a few days a week, but often spend hours creating games and activities for them. If you choose to fund this project you would not only be helping me gather resources that I need to create and organize more of these games, but you would also be buying some materials that will be used in the math stations. I am specifically hoping to integrate more literacy into math stations through the purchase of a few math-themed children's books!
My Project
Some materials that are included in this project are storage bins for math games that I create, math literature, and other math games to make math more engaging for students.
I want students to love coming to school and to see learning as fun and engaging!
The storage bins and lamination material that I have listed will allow me to create many more math games that truly make learning fun for students. Right now I have created so many games, but I have no where to organize them for students to continue to use them! I am also hoping to integrate more math literature throughout my center time to bring more variety into my math instruction. Students love reading to find out more about a topic, so I figured why not bring that joy into math class. I have also selected a few other resources that can be used to make practicing basic math facts a little more fun!
