Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students come from all over the world. All of our students are English Language Learners. Our school has a 92% free and reduced-price lunch rate. Many of our students have experienced difficulties and atrocities while in their native countries.

Our cheerleaders come from countries where cheerleading is not available.

Every year we teach new student athletes the beginning skills of cheerleading. Cheerleading is expensive and without fundraising it would not be possible for many of our students to participate.

This is the first year offering drama courses in our school. Our units are project based. The materials for these projects are often expensive.

My Project

The drawstring bags will be used to help me customize pom pom bags for my cheerleaders. They will also receive their end of season banquet gifts in these bags. I will be adding each cheerleader's name and our school emblem on the bags myself.

My drama students are creating their final projects, theatrical makeup demonstrations and these expensive makeup supplies will help them create their unique fantasy faces.

Students will be creating fantasy characters such as: mermaids, elves, anime themed, and vampires. Supplies like vampire teeth, elf ears, molding wax, and colorful face paint will help create their unique fantasy faces.
