This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I use Magnets in my classroom for 2 things for ceramic color samples and small ceramic projects. The ceramic colors are on display on butterflies that I cut out of clay. They are on display on the board so my students know what their piece will come out like when it gets out of the Kiln.

If you are not familiar with the ceramic process the last stage is the glazing stage when you put the glaze on your piece it looks a lot different then the final result when fired.

Having the magnet butterflies with the sample of glaze makes it clear what your piece will look like in the end
