As a teacher at a Title I school, many of my students come from low income families. They have very few opportunities to have experiences outside of our small community. With very few funds available at home, books and educational items are not usually a part of their home life.
My kindergartners love to learn and I strive to make our classroom a welcoming environment for them.
They are all so bright and use their little brains so much! Their smiles and giggles are infectious and they make our classroom such a happy place to be.
My Project
In our classroom, we are very hard workers! We would love to have some comfortable stadium seats so we can sit back, relax, and learn the day away.
Our classroom was not equipped with a whiteboard for us to use to practice our math and reading skills.
I have purchased a shower board for us to use, but the dry erase markers do not completely erase from it, leaving much of the board area unusable. It would be so exciting to have a whiteboard that is erasable and magnetic to use in our classroom. My students love to "play teacher" and use the whiteboard for learning games using magnets.
We are creative little kinders and go through a ton of crayons. Nobody likes to use a dull crayon, so a crayon sharpener would be an amazing addition to our classroom!
