This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a teacher in a low-income and high-poverty school district. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences in order to achieve their highest level of academic achievement.
I may not be able to control their home lives, but I can certainly control their experiences during the school day.
From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hoping to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.
My Project
My students will greatly benefit from a STEM board with magnetic STEM gears, magnetic letters, magnetic numbers, and an engineering kit.
These materials will engage the students in a way that they can enhance their creativity and increase their independence.
The STEM board with the engineering gears will be an additional center for the students to engage with in order to keep their young minds active. The magnetic letters and numbers will be a great addition to our small group instruction for the students to receive the tools and resources needed to learn and grow.
