Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our students have a high level of curiosity, and their energy is abundant. These children are from diverse backgrounds and households, and many have unique needs and challenges to overcome. We have a high population of students who are at-risk socially, emotionally, and academically. However, there is also a high desire to be cooperative, respectful, and successful students.

My students' potential is limitless, and I see future engineers, computer scientists, chefs, and teachers.

These young scholars have awesome determination. The academic growth that many are experiencing is remarkable because they have the ability and desire to acquire and apply the ​skills necessary to be successful.

My Project

The magnetic coins and magnetic lapboards will provide a place for learning the value of coins and counting a collection of coins. The coins will stay securely in place and not be lost.

These materials will support my students' understanding of money and set them up to be financially responsible.

The magnetic lapboards and coins are excellent learning tools for math and economic concepts as the students are required to count money and make change. A strong understanding of money values will support my students as they grow into young adults and begin to make decisions about their own money and economic choices..
