My students are from a small close-knit community in the rural Appalachian heart of Kentucky, where over 30% of families are considered below the poverty level.
A large number of my students are part of the Head Start program which provides comprehensive early childhood education, including health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to low-income children and their families.
Our program consists of children ages 3 to 5 years old. Children that do not qualify for the Head Start program of Preschool may enroll starting at age 3 if they have some type of disability such as cognitive, motor, social-emotional, self-help skills, or speech impairment.
My Project
Magnetic Letters, numbers and shapes will provide manipulatives for our students to enhance cognitive, fine motor, language development, social skills and academic skills. These will be used in small group, large group and individualized instruction I truly like how they can be used on white board too.
