Help me give my students magnets, so that we can explore and learn.
This project expired on November 24, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students are very creative, energetic, and curious. They come from a rural, low-income area in Oklahoma. They deserve the world and have imaginations that match our rapidly changing society.
My students thrive in situations that allow them to learn by exploring and playing.
Unfortunately, too many of them are already burnt out with traditional school, so I strive to provide them with a learning environment that matches their interests and unique learning styles. When my students are having fun, they can make remarkable progress.
These materials will allow my students to broaden their science understanding. We will be able to learn more about the properties of magnetism, forces and interaction.
We can also increase our knowledge of what scientists actually do.
We will use these materials to learn how scientists actually set up experiments to try and learn more about things that intrigue them.
My students have had a limited amount of science exposure, especially in regards to hands-on, inquiry based experiences. Although these materials are simple, they will help fill in some of the gaps in my students' experiences. These materials will also help build understanding about what scientists do and how they do it.
