My Students
My classroom is filled with a diverse group of students from the Playa Vista community in the Los Angeles area. At our STEM certified school, my students love hands-on learning, engaging activities and academic challenges.
These students are hard-working, caring and very curious individuals.
It is my aim to provide my students with the resources to allow their curiosity to drive a growing interest in learning. When given the opportunity to explore and engage, these students come alive with excitement and are eager to learn and do their very best.
My Project
The Magna-Tiles can be utilized in the classroom in a number of ways. First of all, these tiles will be utilized as visual manipulatives when teaching mathematics; more specifically, mathematical strategies. Students will also be able to use the tiles to understand place value.
Aside from mathematical applications and use, these tiles will help students expand their creativity.
Students will be able to explore their creative sides by designing and creating all sorts of items including, but not limited to, cars, buildings and larger landscapes. It is my goal to provide the students with hands-on learning materials, such as these, in order to help nurture their learning and overall academic growth.
