My Students
Being a teacher in Camden, NJ is what drives me to build a classroom that is comfortable, bright and cheerful for my students. Every day my students enter my classroom and know exactly what their daily routine looks like. I work hard to make routines and consistency a daily part of their learning and growing; my goal is to create lifelong learners who look to school as a safe place from the outside world.
Our classroom motto is "Play Nice, Work Hard, Stay Kind." My students understand that everyday they enter the classroom as kind, respected children who are continuously learning and sharing their knowledge.
My kids deserve the very best, and my aim is to provide them the tools and resources for them to reach their dreams.
My Project
Have you ever walked into a classroom and just immediately felt a sense of calm and happiness? With some magical touches added to our classroom, this will be the mood that's set every time my kids enter the room. Small changes made by adding warm tones in the bulletin board paper, and fun banners and decorations will make my kids feel like they are in a magical escape from all their worries and problems. Our hands-on resources such as dry-erase pouches, felt-tip markers, pencil cases and bins for our materials will help to make all of our artistic dreams come true!
What better way to set the tone of "calm" in our classroom than to add some light covers to dim those fluorescent lights and give our thinking brains a nice, warmly lit room so we can concentrate and become the leaders of the world!
The goal of our supplies will be to create a magical escape for my kids who sometimes come from a dark outside world. I want my kids to feel the calm vibes of our classroom; to escape from their worries and focus on their dreams. We are so excited to organize our growing library with some colorful library bins, perfect to organize our books by genre, author and subject. This will help in our library introduction in the beginning of the school year. Kids will become familiar with authors, genre and fiction/nonfiction books; they will know where to put them, how to find them, and ways to categorize them. I love having library leaders in the classroom who take care of our library and our books! The bins will make this job much easier!
