I teach kindergarten in a high poverty school where many students come to school without the skills needed to be successful in school.
Many of our school's efforts focus on reading intervention and most of our new materials are designed to help students with reading skills. However, students need to have basic math concepts as well. Funding for these materials often does not exist.
I am asking for a variety of hands on learning games and activities that will help students develop core skills important for success in math. These include counting, number recognition, patterning, sequencing, and tactile numbers for children with learning disabilities.
Your support will help my students master the skills they need to be successful. Math is extremely important to success in life as well as in school, and this is often overlooked. Thank you for any assistance you can give. It will be appreciated more than words can express.
