This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In our music classes, we strive to be well-rounded IB students who like learning about our musical history and preserving the legacy of the music department that has been on this campus for many years. All of the students are hard-working, often times taking their lunchtime and after-school time to come in to rehearse.
What amazes me about these students is how they can jump into their work on their own.
They find ways to communicate with each other in respectful ways, provide constructive feedback, and diligently work together.
Despite the many obstacles my students face, they look forward to coming in and getting their work done. They always enjoy performing for others and when they are on stage, they light up because they get a rush from being able to share their talents with others.
My Project
Since we have been using tech this whole distance learning time, sheet music has been accessible digitally. Now that we are back in person, students have been able to get actual copies of their music.
When one or two are missing a copy, it makes it difficult to practice at home.
With this printer in the classroom, we'll be able to have extra copies for those days.
The journals are to aid in the continuing work with music theory that our students are growing from. It makes it difficult to create notes that flow. With our journals, the students are able to go back and reference earlier units to help them work on their music.
