For this project, I asked my biggest readers to tell me what books they wish they could find in our library. These are the students I see nearly every day, constantly swapping their books in and out until it feels like they must have read everything on my shelves! I want them to have fresh new reads that will keep that fire for reading lit for years to come.
The books in this project were specifically requested by our school's most voracious readers!
They heavily lean towards fantasy- most of my bookworms love a magical story with action and adventure- but there are a few science fiction, historical fiction, and age-appropriate romances represented as well. There is also an emphasis on diverse characters and worlds, which reflects the diversity of my students' community. If funded, I plan to let the students add a little sticker to the inside cover of each book, marking it as their special request. I know they would be so excited to see their choices on the shelves!
