My Students
I teach in a district where about half of my students are in poverty. My students come from all walks of life, but they all deserve a quality education. First grade is such a fun age to teach! They are lovable, yet independent. They are so eager to learn and everyday is a new day for them. I love helping my students reach their full potential. These students are our future, so my goal is always to encourage them to work towards their dreams.
My Project
My students love to read and they have recently taken an interest in Magic Treehouse and Babysitter's Club books. I would like to build up my library for them so that they have lots of choices for books to read!
I have lots of students that are in need of more challenging books than my first grade classroom library offers. Magic Treehouse books are the perfect books to fill this void because they have so many different adventures that the kids can read about. I also know that the girls in my class enjoy the Babysitter's Club books I do have and would like to add more to that collection as well.
