My Students
My sensational seconders are enthusiastic learners that love science, technology, engineering, art, and math. They are a diverse group of students with a range of abilities, backgrounds, cultures, and linguistic abilities. Their families applied to our STEM school because they support our school vision to prepare their children for college and 21st Century careers through innovation, inquiry, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. They love to share their ideas as their interests in the world around them grow with each day. Collaboration and creativity are part of our everyday learning goals. Small group learning helps us address the variety of individual needs these amazing 21st Century learners need and deserve.
My Project
This project will provide two boxed sets of Mary Pope Osborne's adventurous Magic Tree House Books. One set will be kept in our classroom library for reading aloud and for students to independently read. The other box set of Magic Tree House books will be given to students to read at home. Each student will pick one of the books from the Magic Tree House series to read. After reading the book, each student will write a book report and do an oral presentation in class. They will be given a variety of options to create a prop for their presentations, such as create a scene from the story in a shoebox, make a mystery bag of items that the characters needed in the book, make a PowerPoint presentation, or even dress up as a character.
Your donations will help support the magic of reading!
