Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I love that my students want to explore and learn about new books everyday. This is a reason why I would love to create a better and comfier space at their reading corner by adding a bean bag and a book compartment that way I can add more mirrors and window books for the students to explore. One of my goals is to have a variety of books where my students can see themselves in books that represent them. I have also noticed that my students learn a lot with hands on activities this is why I added many of the learning toys and sensory items.
Another of my goals is to have different learning activities with toys to give the opportunity for my students to learn in different fun ways where they are engaged.
In every subject I would love to have learning toys in where my students are interacting with each other and practicing new skills everyday. In my calm corner I do not have many items and I would for my students to have sensory items that they can use their touching sense to regulate their emotions and free their mind of whatever storm is going on inside their little minds.
Another goal that I have for my classroom is to encourage learning though exploration, curiosity, problem solving and creativity by having sensory play in my classroom. This is why I would my students to have a space where they can explore sand and water to stimulate their senses.
