Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The curriculum I use promotes many hands on learning activities, as well as learning through music and movement. These activities happen in various centers I have set up in the room. Appropriate sturdy materials are the key to the children learning and improving their academic and social skills.
I have a class of nine preschool students whose ages range from 3-5 years old.
All of the students have a variety of mild to moderate special needs ranging from developmental delays, speech delays, fine motor delays and emotional/behavioral issues. They learn so much throughout the year, it's amazing to witness their progress! There is a team of teachers and staff that support their learning - whether it's through gym activities, art activities, fun speech, O.T., P.T. or music activities, a lot of support is in place to help all of my students achieve a variety of goals.
My Project

The skills they gain doing this fine motor activity help with other fine motor activities they engage in throughout the day such as: creating art projects, using hands on math and literacy manipulatives, and looking at books.
My students learn so much through handling many different types of materials. These magic boards and letter practice cards will make a big difference in helping them learn.
