This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Houston charter public school system that is redefining what is possible. Despite the many challenges my students face coming from a low income and under served community, I strive to provide them with all of the creative and meaningful learning experiences I can.

I am committed to providing access to artistic, academic and social opportunities that otherwise would not exist.

I will do everything it takes to create the ultimate learning environment for my students because it is our mission to increase the number of students from these communities to graduate from college prepared to lead.

My Project

Painting is one of my student's favorite forms of artistic expression. As they continue to learn techniques we have found that our current brushes on paper and cardboard are not giving us what we need to show our skills. We desire quality supplies help to create quality work.

My students now want to start a series of murals on canvas that they can display both on our campus and dream of hanging in locations around the community.

We strive to use our love of painting and creative talents to display works that are meant to encourage love, positivity, and embracing diversity.
