My students need a classroom carpet to sit on while we learn about artist, cultures, elements and principles of art, techniques and more! Right now they are on the cold tile floor.
I teach approximately 1,00 students ranging in grades from Kindergarten through fourth grade. Our class sizes are rather big but we make it cozy and fun! They like to be busy in the art room and can get distracted by the materials we use or what has made it's way to the floor.
I teach amazing students who like to be engaged in their learning and take pride in their work.
They are creative, hard working, and aware of the needs around them. Kindness and compassion is evident by their actions! Our school appreciates acts of kindness all around them and recognizes each other for it. Some of our students take this life lesson out into the world and it is truly a gift that keeps on giving!
My Project
We do not have a designated floor space to learn on. We do a lot of our learning in close proximity of our teacher and having color coded floor space would be a dream come true! Our Art Teacher reads to us, has us explore artworks in detail, has discussions with us, and does demonstrations! We have a hard time seeing and paying attention at our tables so she asks us to come in close so that we can see and pay attention better. The floor is okay but in an art room it is a bit messy and we tend to crawl under things, spread out a bit much, etc.
We would greatly appreciate a "magic" class carpet so that our imaginations can take off!
Our tables and supplies are color coded and it would be great to have our whole class or our table groups to know exactly where to go and to be ready for the magic to happen!
