Calendar time, carpet time, story time and community time-my students need a place to get together in our classroom but we don't have one. Help us get a colorful carpet for our classroom meeting place.
I teach at a Title One school in Oklahoma.
Almost 70% of the students in our school qualify for free or reduced lunch. My first graders are eager and energetic students. Having a colorful, organized carpet area will help us build community and make carpet learning time more effective.
My Project
It would be wonderful for my students to have a colorful carpet to use as a meeting place. A good early childhood classroom carpet would give students an assigned spot to sit and help them focus as we set the stage for learning in our classroom. The activities that take place on the carpet are an essential component to my first graders' learning experience.
Please consider donating to this project.
This carpet will have a lasting impact throughout the school year and in years to come! Time and energy will be saved, as I will not have to waste time reminding students where to sit. I can instead focus on the learning at hand and continue to build classroom community.
