This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting a large rug so that I can implement GLAD strategies in the classroom. These strategies focus on the 4 principles for how people learn. Instead of having students stay at their desks and learn from afar, the goal of the rug is to allow students to come closer and engage in classroom discussions. The overall goal for this project is to provide different teaching styles to support student learning.

My students are unique, there is a VAST range of distinctive supports needed to help them learn effectively.

I noticed that when I started to implement GLAD strategies, more of my students were engaged and participated. If I can get my students to gather closer on a rug, it will make the lesson a lot more impactful to their learning. As a former student of the district, it makes teaching my class a lot more impactful to me. Being a low-income school, it is difficult to get donations from parents, so I am hoping I can support through here.
