My Students
My students are full of life and spunk. They love to learn and explore topics on their own as well as in groups of peers. They are problem solvers and curious.
In our room, we have children from all over the valley as we have a large population that is considered open enrollment.
That said, our school is at the center of the neighborhood and is truly a neighborhood community center. Families come and stay at our school from kindergarten until middle school because we are an amazing school.
My Project
Students need up-to-date, non-fiction reading material that is of high interest to them. Understanding what is happening in the world around them helps them become more fluent and worldly readers. Students love Scholastic News and what it brings to their learning! Every time a new magazine arrives, they can't wait to read it cover to cover. Scholastic News gives students both science and social studies text that is up-to-date and relevant to their world. Students can no only read this text, but there are many added bonuses such as quizzes, vocabulary words, and videos to better support the understanding of the text!
More than a third of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
