Help me give my students magazines to encourage reading; Scholastic Magazines will help my kids read current articles on their reading levels.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Bishop's classroom raised $196

My Students
My students are elementary resource students with varying disabilities. Most have learning disabilities, but some are autistic, and some have emotional disabilities.
The majority of my students are from low-income homes.
My students struggle with reading, writing, and math. We focus on below grade level skills during their time in resource in order to be successful in the general curriculum.
These students will not let their disabilities define them! They work hard to overcome any challenges life places before them.
My Project
Scholastic offers magazines on a variety of reading levels that are very engaging for students. I would like to use these magazines with my students to encourage reading both fiction and non-fiction articles. These articles will be on their current reading levels with activities to support and scaffold the reading skills my students need.
Magazines offer kids an opportunity to read something other than books.
Kids don't realize that they are reading because the articles are shorter than stories and the pictures are real-life images that can sometimes be related to things in the kids' current life situations.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
