Hooray! This project is fully funded

I teach three classes of amazing seventh graders in Harlem. My students are enthusiastic, sincerely want to learn, and are prepared to work very hard so they can pass their high-stakes state exams in January. Since all of the books in my classroom are materials that I have personally provided, my students desperately need a wider variety of reading materials! Additionally, because many of my students are struggling readers, they must begin reading texts that are accessible to them so they can become more confident and able readers. I am looking for my sixty students to have access to the magazine "Junior Scholastic ACTION." This magazine (because of its visual appeal and young-adult orientation) would help me immensely in teaching reading strategies. These magazines are also very kid friendly and would inspire my students to READ! I can only imagine the genuine child-like excitement if my students were to receive their own magazine each month! It would be a celebration once a month and a gift that would last the entire year. These magazines would be a wonderful addition to our classroom library.
