My Project

Scholastic News would be used in a variety of ways in my classroom to improve my students' ability to tackle real-world articles. With the adoption of the new ELA standards in South Carolina, I would use Scholastic News as a resource to supplement instruction.

The magazines would be a good source for research for my students on a variety of reading levels and topics.

Students will also use it as a resource to write argumentative essays based on the debate page. This will supplement the textbook content as well as help my students practice answering comprehension questions and standard-based questions using the articles.

Scholastic News would improve my classroom by providing current, short articles for my students. It would also be a great way to expose them to current news and history. Please consider partnering with my classroom!
