This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 3rd grade classroom is a place where students are challenged and inspired to succeed. Throughout the year, students are learning foundational skills in language arts and math. Students are learning how to apply their knowledge that they are learning to the real world around them.
My 3rd graders have such an excitement when it comes to learning.
They are highly motivated students. Their main goal is to become educated students. They understand that what they are learning is to better themselves and to prepare them for college.
My Project
If my project is fully funded, students will get to get the ultimate experience of being a scientist. The lab coats will allow students to make the mental shift of student to scientist.
The real stethoscope will be perfect to introduce young children to a future career in medicine.
As they listen to their heartbeat, they will learn how the heart works. They will research the parts of the heart and what makes their heart beat.
With the anatomy bundle sets, which include a miniature model of the heart, brain, human body, and skeleton, students will be able to gain a deeper understanding of how organs and systems interact by manipulating them as they collaborate with one another. As students are manipulating the miniature models, there will be another learning resource of the cross-section brain model, human heart model, and the human body that is bigger in size which can be used to teach a larger group of students. The Fascinating human facts body game will make learning about the body fun. With more fascinating human body fact cards, students will be able to learn even more about the body, and they will be able to research specific parts of the human body. The hope is that as students learn about their body and how it works, they will be motivated to learn even more about it in the future.
As we finish our human anatomy unit, students will learn about predator and prey relationships. As students collaborate with one another and research owls, they will also be able to dig deeper into these mysterious owl pellets that will provide so much useful information.
