Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Remember what it's like to sing along when you hear the right song at the right time on the Radio or when you hear something that changes the way you think. My students are experiencing the power of free speech in their dynamic student run radio station but need your help realize their dream.
My students come from diverse backgrounds and economic conditions and attend our unique performing arts and multimedia charter high school.
Our school encourages creativity, lifelong learning in the Arts, and excellence in Academic pursuits. The Career technical orientation provided in the Radio program prepares students for internships and jobs in the Entertainment Industry. They meet and interview celebrities and people who are key to making the industry grow. They also put on their own shows with artists at the school and with local bands whom they promote on the station.
My Project
We're asking for a Mac computer so that students can make and promote Radio shows, broadcast live, and update the station web site. Mac computers are a vital part of any studio and allow students to focus on their creative expression and broadcasting craft.
They also allow students to import photos and videos to make promotional materials for their shows and for the station. Students take part in the music journalist aspect of the industry by writing reviews. The above tasks and many more functions make a Mac computer the 'engine' of the studio and the operations of the Radio program.
Our innovative high school Radio program and Charter High School thanks you for supporting our program.
Your generosity will truly make a difference not only directly to students making radio shows, but also to our entire community of people who are striving to communicate better with one another. As the broader community related to our school grows, the role of the radio station in facilitating communication becomes more and more vital. Thank you again for providing the support.
