Often, we get to this time of year, and we have very low energy and feel as if our efforts are not having a great impact on our students. Sometimes, we also don't feel the support we need from school administration, which can impact our own mental health. The items I received helped me to supply my team with snacks, fidget toys and sensory gadgets for students who need a little more regulation as they prepare for a summer in which they will have less emotional support. \r\nI was also able to restock my team's supply of necessities for the next school year (notebooks, dry erase markers & White board cleaning supplies). What I have found to be the most impactful was what your donations did for my team personally. Members of my team were able to receive journals and pens (which I customized to each of their job titles & personalities). I was also able to give the team essential oil diffusers which helped bring aromatherapy to our offices for the benefit of students and staff alike aiding in emotional and sensory regulation. \r\n\r\nFor many schools the Special Education Department is such an important link in the chain which supports students but is often overlooked or under appreciated. Being able to give my team some of the things they need to support our students as well as to help refill their emotional tanks has been so encouraging!
