My Project

Our school is full of big hearted, hard working students. We come from a low socioeconomic area and it is my goal to give my students every opportunity to see a bright future for themselves and those around them. Hands-on experiences are key for these kids as they begin to discover who they are and what their interests could be. “Macro:Learning With Micro:Bit” will help provide these students with a small device that brings computer science to life and makes their learning fun and practical.

Learning computer science in a fun and engaging way will help these kids envision a future they might not otherwise have had!

With these tools students will begin to discover the possibilities that future holds. The micro:bit tool will allow them to apply computer science and coding skills to real world problems. They will be able to make their own devices to collect data much like a real world scientist.

With the micro:bit, they we will build devices to measure temperature changes, devices to track their steps throughout the day, and even build their own device to measure the moisture level in soil! They can then analyze this data to make real changes to real world problems. These are just a few examples of the limitless possibilities you will be helping to provide these kids.
