Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a third-grade teacher in an inner-city, Title I school. I have 29 students from various ethnic backgrounds. A large majority of my students come from non-English speaking families. My class also includes special education students who need differentiated instruction and visuals. My students love using classroom resources to help them with their classwork. Unfortunately, with budget cuts and no funding, we lack sufficient resources in the classroom.

My school does not have available funding to purchase materials that are needed to meet the needs of my special education students and English language learners, especially during these times.

My students are very special because they try their best even though they are often faced with many obstacles that other children do not have. They love school and are happy to learn.

My Project

A classroom MacBook Air would open the door to many opportunities that Chromebooks and iPads cannot allow for my ADHD and ELL children.

A MacBook Air would greatly help students that need extra motivation with their classroom assignments where students will be able to write, analyze data, and present their work in engaging ways.

iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band can be utilized to put together captivating slide shows and chronicle classroom activities. With Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro X, my students will be able to create projects with the same tools professionals use.

The Mac App Store is filled with educational apps that students will love. iBook Author is a free app that will help me make Multi-Touch books for the Mac, so I can use them to create materials tailored to my class level. It can also be used to make portfolios, class newsletters, or yearbooks. The opportunities are endless!
