My Project

My Project

My school is a district 75 Title I school meaning, it serves students with the highest levels of need in NYC.

Within my school, almost 90% of students live in poverty. My students have a range of mixed disabilities and are from kindergarten to 2nd grade Some students are verbal with emotional impairment. The majority of them have been identified as having Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disabilities, Emotional and Social delays, or Cognitive Disorders and almost all receive mandated related services such as Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Counseling Services.

This MacBook Air, along with our smart board would help bring interactive lessons to life in my classroom which in return would enhance my students learning potential. Interactive lessons in the hands of my students immediately increases their level of engagement and allows them to engage multiple senses at once. I will use this MacBook Air, along with our smart board to help my students become actively engage in the learning process. In addition, I will use this MacBook Air to help my students during the day by working with them one-to-one or in small groups to practice important fine motor skills, literacy/reading, visual motor skills, typing, research projects for writing topics, and play educational games. Please help make this a possibility for my students.
