My Students

Our school is a diverse community with students who come from different backgrounds. We are also a Title I school in Brooklyn with a large ELL population with over 1,300 students. In my fourth grade ICT classroom, about half of my students are ELL students, which consist of mostly Bengali, Spanish, Cantonese, and Arabic speakers. I also have students with special needs, speech impairment, and learning disabilities.

Each of my students bring something different to our classroom.

We work as a team! We learn from one another and help each other grow socially, emotionally, and academically.

My Project

I currently teach a 4th Grade ICT class and work with a co-teacher. We are sharing a class computer to plan, research resources, connect with the SMART Board, etc. My co-teacher often borrows a MacBook from the school, but laptops are limited.

I would love to have my own laptop that I can use during meetings and professional development as well as for planning and research!

During in-school meetings, I would have to borrow a laptop from the tech room. For outside Professional Development, I am unable to access a laptop. With this laptop, I could bring it to my PDs which often include supporting my English Language Learners and students with special needs. I would also like to use the laptop to create SMART notebook lessons for my instruction. With these lessons, my students will be able to learn with fun, interactive tools and activities on the Smart Board.
