Mac and Cheese

My Students

Our school serves students in grade K-5. It is a Title I school, where all students are offered free breakfast, and approximately 95% of the students receive a free lunch. The parents are hard working, but still struggle to survive. Therefore, the students suffer when it comes to school supplies or helping out the classroom with supplies.

I teach fourth and fifth graders that are either gifted or high achieving students.

The students are given an intensive alternative curriculum, in order to push them even harder throughout the year. My classroom lacks many supplies for the students, in order to make it a conducive learning environment where they can shine.

My Project

A MacBook laptop would be a great addition to our classes new DC3400 Nikon camera. Throughout the year, it is important to capture memorable moments. But what's exciting about taking photos or video if you cannot see, edit, or create a yearbook? Students will be able to manipulate photos through apps on the MacBook to make their pictures even more memorable.

The MacBook laptop will also play other rolls in the classroom.

Students will be able to earn time with the laptop whether it be to research, enjoy free time, or work on assignments. This laptop will not only enhance the yearbook that we will create, but give the students opportunities to work on a new style laptop when creating projects or completing assignments.
