Ms. Barnes from Houston TX is requesting educational kits & games through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students with Dyslexia the materials they need to support their new program protocols. The letters, cubes and counters are all needed to assist each student with individual tactile resources to ensure they are connecting.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
We have a campus that is 100% Title I and 75% economically disadvantaged. My students have very little access to prior knowledge skills. Many of the concepts and skills that come naturally to others, my students have trouble understanding.
Despite their struggles, they are the most uplifting, fun-loving and dedicated scholars you will ever meet.
Nothing breaks their spirits and they are determined to make the best out of whatever situation they are dealt. They work hard every day and they always have smiles on their faces. They inspire me and keep me motivated to make learning fun for them!
These materials are specifically for the NEW Region 4 Dyslexia protocols for the students that are serviced by the Resource Team. In lieu, of creating one kit to be used by the classroom in whole groups, we would like to provided each student so, they are able to take the pieces home to continue with the learning.
This also provides each of them with the tactile, kinesthetic skills that help them internalize the learning.
Unique Learners need Unique Teachers, I continue to think outside the box to ensure my students have the knowledge, researched based strategies and techniques they need to compete with those without learning disabilities. The materials requested are hot off the presses from our Area Regional Leaders, as the new program rolls out I want my students to be the 1st to benefit from these researched based strategies.
