My Students
My students are so excited to start getting hands-on STEAM experiences in our new Innovation Lab. We will delve into 3D printing, robotics, and programming, as well as many other hands-on projects. It is so fun to watch their faces light up when they see the results of their own creations.
The students are curious and creative, imaginative and innovative.
I love hearing their new ideas. We are a diverse school with many cultures and languages, and STEAM experiences are great at bringing everyone together for a common goal.
My Project
Students learn about financial literacy through earning, budgeting and spending classroom money. They are able to earn money for good behavior, completing assignments on time, and through classroom jobs. The students can then spend the money on rewards that include lunchtime treats, special moments with their teacher or principal, front of the line passes for lunch, or other activities.
Several of the rewards they may purchase include extra time in the Innovation Lab, using the Lego WeDos sets, the Spheros robots, or creating custom backpacks using the Cricut heat press.
The students who earn these rewards may come in during lunch to build models and explore different projects within the WeDo curriculum. The Spheros covers are needed to project the Spheros robots from all the exciting activities, and the backpacks can be used to carry their library books.
