This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The impact of COVID-19 on student learning and social emotional health has been profound. Students feel nervous to talk in the whole group setting. Students feel worried that they are "behind" after being at home learning online for a year.

I will be running small group Lunch Bunch Book Clubs for targeted students.

We will eat lunch together and read a common book together. This will provide students the opportunity to relax and experience the joy of reading and discussing books in a book club format. No stress! Just great questions, sharing, laughing, and relating great stories to our own lives. The books chosen focus on diversity, problem solving, and social emotional learning.
