My Project
My students have been learning about the Lunar New Year and are excited to celebrate some of the customs. The students will use Crayola broad line markers with our work to create books for the Year of the Rabbit. The students will also use the number tiles from the Eureka bin of number tiles and plastic deli food containers and mesh baggies to produce "lucky numbers." We learned that when celebrating the Lunar New Year, red envelopes are given with amounts of money that are divisible by 4 or related to 4, as that is considered lucky. Students will be tasked with placing "lucky numbers" into "red envelopes," which will really be food containers or mesh baggies for others to check their divisibility. Is it truly lucky?
We are looking forward to infusing math and literacy into our Lunar New Year celebration.
