This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My Lunar New Year project has panda keychains, panda squishy balls, and Chinese lucky charms. They are incentives for my students to celebrate the Lunar New Year, and learn the cultural symbols and experience.
We are a Chinese immersion class and the Lunar New Year is the biggest festival celebrated in China.
My students can make dumplings and traditional crafts; and learn festive songs and lucky sayings to give other people best wishes for the next year. These little gifts will be brought home to show their parents and tell them what they know about the Lunar New Year and why people are celebrating it.
