Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students are wonderful, inquisitive learners. They strive to be the best and achieve the most. Our students come to school with a positive attitude and enjoy learning and helping one another. At our school, more than 50% of students are Black, Latino, and/or Native American, and nearly all our students come from low-income households.

We want to help our students become more culturally aware of our differences and similarities by celebrating different holidays throughout the year.

Every year, our students, parents, families and staff participate in city-sponsored parades such as the Martin Luther King Jr. Parade and the Cinco De Mayo Parade. We walk through a small section of Gardena with other schools in the area and show our Chapman Pride. We would love to use the pom poms, ribbons, and htv vinyls to make different things to show our Chapman Bear spirit as we walk through the streets of Gardena. We can even use all these great resources at our assemblies, especially our upcoming Lunar New Year assembly!
