Learning about new cultures helps diversify our minds and allows us to welcome new customs and conversations into our lives. Our class will be using these materials to create colorful Chinese Zodiac Lanterns. These will be displayed around the classroom and hallway to celebrate Chinese New Year. The markers and color pencils will help them have the tools to be creative with color. The color ink will give them color temples that will last year after year and to keep these resources organize storage container boxes. This will be a perfect way to keep the materials safely.
The students will be excited to celebrate and learn about Lunar New Year with these colorful Chinese Zodiac Lanterns.
Teaching children about the Lunar New Year is important because it offers a wonderful opportunity to explore themes of new beginnings, renewals, and family tradition of other cultures. My students will be using these art materials to learn about the Chinese New Year and why this holiday is so important to Chinese culture.
