This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Learning about red envelopes during Lunar New Year celebrations is beneficial for our students as it provides cultural insight into a significant tradition. We would use red paper and color printer and ink to print out our school "money." We would then fill the envelopes with this "money" and distribute them to students when they are making good decisions around campus. This education promotes diversity appreciation, helps students understand the importance of gift-giving in various cultures, and encourages respect for customs different from their own.

Additionally, it can foster empathy and a sense of connection to the global community by acknowledging and celebrating the rich tapestry of cultural practices around the world.

We have a significant amount of Asian students at our school, and I know they would especially appreciate this project.
