Help me give my students consumable materials for our hands-on engineering design lantern challenges. Each of these materials such as the books, vellum paper, balloons, and cardboard tubes will help students create Lunar New Year lanterns.
I love being able to challenge my students to think about how to solve problems and create products from scratch. This will be my second year being able to teach my students about Lunar New Year by reading them books, then have them complete an engineering design challenge where they create a new year's lantern. Although their challenge is still to make a lantern, the criteria and constraints of the challenge have changed.
My students need consumable STEAM materials and books in order to learn about Lunar New Year in a fun and engaging engineering design experience.
Some materials include but are not limited to tea lights, vellum paper, balloons, cups, and more. I can't wait to see how my students' lanterns turn out. My students will also be able to use our iPads to do research, but we need new cases to keep them protected.
