This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This school year, I’ve had the opportunity to work with academic, attendance, and conduct interventions. Thanks to this opportunity, I have been able to create deeper and more meaningful connections with students and am more aware of what their specific needs and abilities are.
Everyone works harder and feels better when they are acknowledged and feel seen, heard, and understood- our students should know we feel lucky to have them!
Our scholars are amazing, resilient students and we are working on addressing their social emotional needs, building positive relationships, and increasing their sense of belonging on our campus.
This year, I have held monthly celebrations and giveaways so that students feel a connection to the school. During these giveaways and celebrations, students often ask “why are you doing this?” My response: “because we appreciate you.” They are always grateful and appreciative. The theme for this particular giveaway will be “We are Lucky you are a Panther.” Thank you for allowing me to continue celebrating our student body and building their sense of belonging at our school.
