My Project
Students in my class are asked to log their time doing homework. This includes reading, math fact practice, and more. Any time they do any work for school, they log it. This log then earns them Lucky Lotto tickets where they could be drawn to win a brand new book.
Our Lucky Lotto Library incentivizes students to read and learn on their own time.
They are driven to dive deep into the pages of books, practice math facts, and complete work at home by earning tickets. Each month, I open the Lucky Lotto chest and pick just one name and that student wins a brand new, never been opened before, book.
The books in this project, such as Out of My Mind, Front Desk, and Melissa feature strong, diverse characters and are steeped in social understanding. They are beloved titles for this age group.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
