My Students

My students come from many backgrounds. Many are from other countries, finding their way to assimilate to a new culture and environment. Our class has students who are just learning to read and write, and students who are reading many levels above the norm. We have fun learning in an environment of understanding and discovery.

Our classroom is all about kindness!

We say a kindness pledge each day and point out acts of kindness every morning. We are a caring community!

My Project

My students love to listen to great books! During the afternoon, they are given time to listen to books after they have completed their word work, comprehension and fluency skill practice.

In our class we have a library of books and CD sets, however, our CD players have stopped working!

I would love to replace the old, unreliable players with ones that are working well. It will bring more stories to life, especially for the lower level readers in the class. For the more fluent readers, it gives them practice in reading along and practicing reading with expression.

I've also requested some laminating sheets to preserve games for math and phonics skill work.
