Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a class of energetic, enthusiastic, and amazing students! Our school is a Title I school where most students come from low-income or poverty-stricken homes or may live in a motel. All of the students receive free or reduced-rate lunch. Most are English Language Learners, while some have special needs. These students come to school eager to learn every day with big smiles on their faces, regardless of their circumstances.

I want to help my students in every way that I can in order for them to be successful in reaching their goal of developing their skills, and of course, have fun!

My Project

This school year is in full swing! After over a month of testing and evaluating my students, we have finally started working in small groups! The only problem is that my small group table is too small! My groups consist of 4-6 students that I meet with everyday and unfortunately it doesn't fit all of us comfortably. Half of the time, I have to reach all the way over to the other side of the table to make sure my students get their materials. It is not an ideal situation or effective.

I would like to provide my students a small group table where we can all sit comfortably and where I can properly assess/instruct.

The horseshoe table is ideal as it can sit up to six students with myself in the middle. I am able to assist everyone easily and provide effective instruction to each group. This will benefit my students in being able to understand the content better and for me to easily see their progress.
