Lucky Horseshoe Table Needed for Small Group Learning!
My students need me to hear them read during guided reading. By having a horseshoe styled table I will be able to listen to each student without disturbing others sitting in the group.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Burch's classroom raised $437

My Students
My students are eager and enthusiastic learners at an International Baccalaureate School where they strive to be inquirers, thinkers, and communicators. Our classroom is an inclusion classroom where we have all types of students including those who are in the Gifted Education Programs as well as those who are part of the Autism program. There are 13 girls and 12 boys, with various backgrounds including Native American, Asian, and Hispanic.
My students are an awesome bunch!
They are friendly, respectful, organized, grateful students.
The students are kind and tenderhearted towards those students who learn differently. I am thrilled to have these fantastic students and am excited to work with them this new school year!
My Project
Having a horseshoe-shaped table allows the teacher to sit in the middle of the table and the student group sits along the outside of the table. Each student remains close to the teacher. The teacher, therefore, is able to focus on every member of the small group. Using guided reading practices, the teacher is able to listen to individual students whisper read without having to get directly between two students. Instead, the teacher is directly in front of the student. In addition to guided reading groups, this table will also be used for small group math and writing instruction.
This new table will make a huge difference in small group instruction by allowing me, the teacher, to see all students when working independently which will help me be able to guide their individualized instructional needs.
