My students in Hendersonville, TN are intelligent, creative, and incredibly musical young musicians. I have the absolute best job in the world, sharing a love of music and creativity with young minds.
Their enthusiasm for learning music is infectious and I learn from them every single day.
In every class we are singing, moving, playing, composing, and performing. We want to give more students the opportunity to create, appreciate, and enjoy music. That's why we're working to expand our current classroom instrument collection with a classroom set of ukuleles. These ukuleles would be integrated into the 3rd-5th-grade music curriculums.
This project will provide students the opportunity to develop skills in playing the soprano ukulele. LPE Students will work together to learn how to hold, tune and strum the ukulele. Students will be involved with performing and singing, listening to, and evaluating ukulele music. They will be able to perform individually and in small groups.
The ukuleles in music class will allow students to express themselves in a creative way while building confidence and encouraging teamwork in the classroom.
Everyone can learn these important skills, no experience required! This is an exciting project, LPE Ukuleles, "We are strumming and learning!"
