Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
At NES, a Title I school in Brighton, many of my students come from low-income households and are English Language Learners who face daily academic and social-emotional challenges. These resources will directly support their learning and well-being. The classroom carpet will create a welcoming, organized space for group learning and class discussions, helping students feel grounded and connected. The wobble chair offers flexible seating for students who struggle with focus, allowing movement without disruption. The Little SPOT SEL book set will be used to build emotional vocabulary, empathy, and self-regulation, critical skills for young learners navigating big feelings. The privacy folders will give students a sense of independence and focus during assessments and independent work, especially important in our shared learning environment. Lastly, the wireless keyboard will allow me to teach and present from different areas of the classroom, increasing student engagement and accessibility during lessons. Every item in this project is designed to meet the academic, emotional, and physical needs of my diverse learners, helping them feel safe, seen, and supported every day.
